Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) is calling for entries for its 2012 Charter Awards, in order to recognize and highlight the very best practices in New Urbanist design. The award was first distributed in 2001, and since then, it has become an annual tradition.
Winning projects are recognized on the extent for which they fulfill and advance the principles of the Charter of the New Urbanism, which outlines the essence of walkable and sustainable communities of all scales. A jury of distinguished designers, architects, urban planners and scholars select the winners of the awards and educates practitioners on the design techniques employed in the award-winning works.
This year, the best professional and academic projects will each win a prize of $3,500. To learn more and apply to be considered, click here. The deadline for entries is January 25, 2012.
