It’s a universal experience for metro riders: the feeling of emerging from the underground, somewhat disoriented and bleary-eyed, until you find your way. Filmmakers Sarah Klein and Tom Mason of Redglass Pictures, a New York-based production studio, capture the essence of transit travel in this short video—a stunning and slow-motion ode to commuting. In their own words:
“It’s a short film – a visual poem – about that moment in New York when you emerge from the subway and find yourself in a new and sometimes unexpected world. “
The filmmakers plan to shoot additional videos in London, Moscow, Paris and Hong Kong. In the hustle and bustle of rush hour, it’s nice to see someone take the time to remind us of the loveliness of mobility. Happy Friday!
