HIK Ontwerpers, an Utrecht-based design firm, installed slides at the Overvecht Station to help passengers catch their trains. Officially called a “transfer accelerator,” the slide is part of a set of urban installations. Previous to the installation, the Overvecht Station was in a state of disrepair with the concrete slowly decaying.
According to Metro, the designers explained the slide is a gift for the rail commuters and hope that it will create a playful urban area, generating positive energy in the disadvantaged neighborhood.
What is your opinion on the slide? Would you use it during rush hour?
