The Transportation Research Board will hold its 91st Annual Meeting on January 22-26, 2012, in Washington, D.C. at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, Omni Shoreham, and Washington Hilton hotels. The event’s theme, “Transportation: Putting Innovation and People to Work,” will cover a range of topics, including bus rapid transit. On Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Dario Hidalgo, director of research and practice at EMBARQ (the producer of this blog), will present on “Bus Rapid Transit Development in Latin America: Lessons Learned and Challenges Ahead.”

The event will also include a session dedicated to the vision of the late Dr. Leon “Lee” Schipper, co-founder of EMBARQ: “Following in Lee Schipper’s Footsteps in Pursuit of Good Travel and Fuel Economy Data: Status of U.S. Travel Data and Options for Improvement.”
