Those of you who have been following snow removal efforts in the D.C. area will now have several opportunities to voice your opinions in the coming weeks.

D.C. Council Member Jim Graham (D-Ward 1) has announced that he will hold a series of hearings to evaluate how the city responded to this month’s back-to-back blizzards. These hearings will take place February 26 and March 10. Those wishing to testify should contact the Committee on Public Works and Transportation office at 202-724-8195.

Additionally, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments is organizing a snowstorm after-action conference in March to examine the response to our recent severe weather and to analyze the fiscal impact of closing government operations along with the additional costs of plowing roadways for governments already facing unprecedented budget shortfalls. Public and private sector representatives are invited to attend. The date is TBA. (Check out COG Chairman and At-Large Councilmember Kwame Brown’s profile on TheCityFix Social — we encourage other local offiicals to sign up, as well!)
