Next American City, a nonprofit that publishes an esteemed quarterly magazine of the same name, is seeking applications for its annual conference, Next American Vanguard. The conference, to be held in St. Louis on October 11-12 this year, will “gather the country’s best and brightest urban advocates,” selected from applicants aged 39 or younger, to engage with local and national experts in community building, as well as creating partnerships across urban networks.
Last year’s conference in Philadelphia featured the heads of NGOs, design centers, developers and businesses from across the urban space. The application is due tomorrow, July 31, 2012 by 5:00 p.m. EST. Applicants will be informed of acceptance publicly on Next American City’s daily blog. Successful applicants who must travel more than 200 miles and earn less than $50,000 annually will be awarded a travel stipend.
