Transforming Transportation 2014 (#TTDC14) is just around the corner! Now in its eleventh year and vibrant as ever with new ideas and energy, the Transforming Transportation conference – co-organized by EMBARQ and the World Bank – convenes high-level decision makers and technical experts to address the core questions of how to make transport environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. This year’s conference focuses on the role of the private sector in shaping the future of sustainable transport.
#TTDC14 brings the private sector to the table
Now is the time to think boldly about the policies, infrastructure, and projects we need to create the future we want. This future is impossible without leaders in government, business, and civil society coming together to collaboratively address the challenges cities face in this age of rapid urban growth.
Transforming Transportation 2014 will integrate business leaders into the discussion more than ever before by examining opportunities for the private sector to advance the sustainable transport agenda for cities. Plenary sessions will address opportunities, risks, and investments in urban mobility; the role of technology in enhancing mobility; traffic safety and urban economies; and positioning transport as a key solution within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals. Highlighted speakers include:
- Nicolas Estupiñán, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Transport, Colombia
- Håkan Karlsson, Executive Vice President, Volvo Global
- Hon. Luis Revilla, Mayor, La Paz, Bolivia
- Jeff Rhoda, General Manager, Global Governance, IBM
