“Historic” International Day of Climate Action

Apparently 350.org’s October 24th International Day of Climate Action was a huge success and a historic day for climate activism across the globe. According to organizers, there were  5,200 events in 181 countries. CNN called it “The most widespread day of political action in the planet’s history.” 350.org held an event a week ago to build grassroots local support for local climate change legislation ahead of the December UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. Also, check out this hilarious and creative video — an idea conceived by supermodel and activist Cameron Russell, the daughter of Zipcar founder Robin Chase — demonstrating the need to reduce CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million:
