I just heard an excellent presentation yesterday by FK Day of World Bicycle Relief (WBF) on the empowerment and security women (and men and children) realize when their mobility and independence is greatly amplified by provision of affordable, reliable bicycles. WBF also uses a simple and fair micro-finance program to enable program participants in Africa to more easily and quickly access these bicycles.
